We at Simply believe that art and design can help express inner thoughts, feelings and inspire teenagers to reach beyond the normal box of education. Without art and design, our world would be a boring place.
Visual art scholarship applicants may have interest in, but not limited to, graphic design, drawing, painting, photography, 3-dimensional sculpture, ceramics, digital media, dance, film, fashion, interior design, and/or printmaking.
All art and design HHS Seniors are encouraged to apply.

Am I eligible to apply?
You are eligible to apply if you meet the following requirements:
• A graduating high school senior
• Enrolled in a 2 or 4-year college or technical school for the upcomming fall semester
• Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
Is a minimum GPA required?
Yes. You must have a minimum 3.0 GPA to be considered for a scholarship.
Do I have to be a graduating high school senior to apply?
Yes. You must be a graduating high school senior entering a 2 or 4-year college or technical school in the Fall.
I haven’t made my final decision on which college to attend. Can I still apply?
Yes. You do not have to have made your final college decision to apply.
Is it necessary to major in the visual arts?
No, majoring in the visual arts in college is not necessary. We are seeking applicants involved in the visual arts at the high school level only.
How do you select the recipient?
The recipient will be selected based on their overall submission package. This includes review of the GPA, personal essay, letter of recommendation, transcripts, and portfolio. The portfolio will serve as the majority factor. Artwork will be judged based on the following: Cohesiveness, Development, and Technique. The relationship of the pieces submitted must show a cohesive structure through which ideas of theme and intent are identifiable. Work should exhibit inquiry, analysis, development, exploration, and resolution. An overall understanding of established visual principles and clarity of execution with regard to media form production and technique should also be present.
What type of visual arts do you support/accept?
Portfolios for visual arts that may include graphic design, drawing, painting, photography, 3-dimensional sculpture, ceramics, digital media, dance, film, fashion, interior design, and/or printmaking are accepted. ALL art styles are encouraged to apply.
How many scholarships are awarded each year?
One.
Is the scholarship renewable?
No, the scholarship is one-time award.
When is the application deadline?
The application must be postmarked no later than April 24, 2019.
Do I mail of drop off my application?
You can mail or drop it off. Drop off hours are Monday thru Friday 8am – 5pm.
